Dallas, Texas – Thursday, October 18, 2007 – The World Muslim Congress in a press release today condemns Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s call to Muslims to defend Iran, should Washington launch an attack.
Mike Ghouse, President of World Muslim Congress states “We condemn all such acts, where religion is abused and misused for political purposes. God forbid, should Washington launch an attack on Iran, the American Muslims will not defend Iran nor the Muslims around the world will defend. If it happens, it would be a war between two egotistic, unyielding bullying fascist individuals; and not the nations they claim to represent. Neither is it a war between religions.”
If Mr. Qaradawi cares about Islam or Muslims, he should become the Ambassador of Islam, and promote peace next door in Darfur instead of appealing on his double standards. As far as the war, we Americans should speak up against our president’s irresponsible act, and the people of Iran should hold their president accountable for an unwanted war. If we don’t let them stop this non-sense, we would be responsible for the genocide, as we are with the Iraqi Genocide.
