If it is not common sense, then it isn’t Islam.
Islam is about creating cohesive societies.
Islam is about making you a good human being.
Islam is about fostering a world where every person feels secure.
Islam guides all of humanity to live in harmony with one another.
God wants us to understand that there is a Creator, that we are accountable for our actions, and that we should care for everything in the universe: ourselves, each other, the 8.5 billion fellow humans around us, and the environment.
Like many people of different faiths, Muslims have, at times, strayed from this foundational goal. It is time to return to it. Ramadan is a month of blessings that encourages us to reflect on the ideals presented in the Quran.
A series of articles about the essence, politics, and traditions of Ramadan will follow.
