The people who have an interest in the future of America were tense on the morning of Friday, September 28, 2018. Many of you may have done your share of the work to preserve our freedom and keep our systems from crumbling. I did my individual share of emails and necessary phone calls including an op-ed “No to Kavanaugh” published at Op-Ed News and other publications.
What is the lesson? The Quran says, (49:13), “The best among you are the ones who take the time to know each other,” when you take the time to learn about each other conflicts fade, and solutions emerge. In another verse it says, if you treat your enemy in a friendly manner, there is a chance that he or she may become your friend.
There is wisdom in Quran 41:34, “Good and evil deeds are not equal. Repel evil with what is better; then you will see that one who was once your enemy has become your dearest friend.”In another verse it says, if you treat your enemy in a friendly manner, there is a chance that he or she may become your friend.
Senator Jeff Flake flipped in the last second before the Senate Vote to confirm Kavanaugh, the same man an hour earlier had said he will vote yes to Kavanaugh. What happened? It was the result of his friendship with Senator Chris Coons, they huddled outside the room, and Jeff walked in and said he wants to delay the voting until he sees a report from FBI.
There are numerous examples of such relationships, impossible things can happen, if you have relationships.
Muslim leaders are reluctant to build relationships with the Republicans, in my opinion, they should not lead the communities. In fact, we need to have a litmus test for leadership, if they are not capable of building relationships with people who differ with us, we should ask them to step down. In the Muslim organizations that I have served in the past, the high command was anti-Republican, they refused even to invite them to the meetings and seminars. There are good people in every group, and we need to reach out to them. No one can live on an Island, we have to work with all people.

MISTAKES MUSLIMS MAKE
By the way, the book “Mistakes Muslims Make” is about to be wrapped up, I am working on the last chapter. We need to be free from fear and face things squarely to fix our problems, and all of them are fixable. Insha Allah, instead of receiving fatwas, I hope to receive requests for discussions to improve our lives in these United States of America. We owe it to the next generation.

NO TO KAVANAUGH
Judge Brett Kavanaugh is unfit to be the Supreme Court judge, he shamelessly displayed his partisanship, he had no business getting rehearsing in the White House and refuses to be investigated by FBI. What kind of judge would he be? The testimony Dr. Ford gave was to ascertain facts, whereas Kavanaugh was aggressively selling his candidacy to gain the seat. He will stain the Supreme Court forever, and the crime of hiring him goes to the Republican Judicial committee. http://www.theghousediary.com/no-to-kavanaugh/
